Amid economic uncertainty in Venezuela, various types of “bonos,” or bonuses and additional payments, are being provided to individuals under government and social programs. Although detailed official data for 2026 is not yet fully available, experience from previous years and available estimates indicate that some bonuses have been particularly high-paying compared to others.
These payments are intended to boost incomes and mitigate the impact of inflation. Here, we present a projected overview of the 10 major payments/bonos that will be most significant in 2026—especially for beneficiaries under the Systema Patria or government programs.
Bono Contra la Guerra Económica (Economic War Bonus)

This bonus is considered the most high-level and influential in Venezuela, especially for government employees and pensioners. According to reports from previous years, this bonus amount has been much higher than other regular bonuses, and it is expected to be distributed on a large scale in 2026 as well.
Megabono or Ingreso Extraordinario (Special Mega Bonus)
This is a rare but large bonus, activated in special circumstances—such as during periods of high inflation or festivals/faith events. The value of such bonuses was quite large in 2025, and such schemes are expected to continue in 2026.
Bonus Especial de Fin de Año (Special Year-End Bonus)

Experiences from previous years have shown that pensioners and employees receive a large bonus at the end of the year, far exceeding the regular payout. According to payment projections for 2025–2026, this bonus will also be distributed in a significantly higher amount.
Bono Complementario Familiar (Family Complementary Bonus)
This bonus is designed to support families and is paid to targeted families registered under the system. It is above the regular payment and contributes significantly to the monthly budget of many families.
Hogares de la Patria (Family Bonus)

This is a social assistance program that provides home-based support. While its average payment may be lower than some other bonuses, it is expected to be a large bonus that will be stable and widely distributed in 2026.
Economía Familiar (Family Economy Bonus)
This is an effort to support families in light of Venezuela’s deteriorating economy. Its payment also represents a significant portion of many families’ income.
Bonos Sectoriales (Bonuses for Special Sectors)
Bonuses issued until December 2025 for education, health, and childcare programs such as Corresponsabilidad and Chamba Juvenil generated significant payments last year, and higher bonuses are expected to be issued under those programs in 2026 as well.
Bonos para Madres y Parto Humanizado (Mothers and Childbirth Support Bonuses)

These bonuses are intended to assist specific social groups and are often larger in scale because they also include health and family-related support.
Bonos de Natalidad y Lactancia (Birth and Breastfeeding Bonuses)
These bonuses are for expenses related to childbirth and motherhood, and their payments are relatively higher because they help meet the basic needs of the family.
Bonos Regionales o Locales (Local/Regional Bonuses)
Some local administrations and state governments also offer bonuses at their own level—often designated as the highest paid to specific groups or regions, especially during festivals or local celebrations.
Economy and Social Impact
Basic wages are generally very low in the Venezuelan economy due to high inflation, a volatile exchange rate, and limited foreign investment. Government bonuses and social assistance schemes constitute a significant portion of citizens’ incomes and help families maintain economic balance. Some of these bonuses, especially those that form part of a regular monthly salary or come as large year-end payments, will remain a key source of economic support in 2026.
